A weekend Guide to London, UK

Im so excited to finally share with you all about my trip to London on the blog. For as long as I can remember, London has always been one of my all time favourite European cities to visit. I love London because of the fact that each different neighbourhood is like its own village, full of locals enjoying the local restaurants and pubs. My personal favourites are Chelsea and Soho, as their full of the best coffee shops, restaurants and the architecture is eye catching. This weekend guide to London is all about my favourite places to visit, as well as some secret gems.

Lunch at Borough Market

Borough Market is London's largest open air market where you can find about anything for everyone. Theres all sorts of foods from all over the world, which you can taste and eat. During our visit, it was apparent that the different ethnic foods were very popular. We lined up for about 30 minutes to get some Ethiopian curry and it was totally worth the wait! Even if you don't want to buy anything, you can simply just go walk around and do some taste testing.

Borough Market on Lontoon suurin ulkoilma marketti josta löytyy jokaiselle jotain.

Notting Hill and Portobello Road Market

Notting Hill is another neighbourhood that I've come to love and make sure I visit each time I'm in London. For most people Notting Hill is known for its pastel coloured houses, or the famous book store from the movie Notting Hill, but theres so much more. Notting Hill is as well full of interesting antique stores and stylish clothing stores. As well, if your willing to venture off the main road, there are many delicious restaurants. For example, at Patty & Bun you can get some of the most savoury hamburgers. Make sure you don't miss Portobello Road's antique markets as they're always full of life and the sights are endless.

Notting Hill on kuitenkin paljon muutakin. Patty & Bun nimisestä ravintolasta saa alueen parhaat hampparit! Portobello Roadilla sijaitsevaa antiikkimarkettia ei kannata missään nimessä missata, sielä tunnelma on aina ylimillään ja näkemistä riittää.

Churchill Arms

Churchill Arms is worth visiting just for the building alone, but as well the food served inside. The building is covered with seasonal flowers from top to bottom and has that classic British feel. The restaurant surprisingly serves Padthai and other Thai dishes, which you wouldn't expect from a Pub looking restaurant. If you have time, make sure you go and explore the neighbourhood and check out Hyde Park and Covent Garden.

Churchill Arms on ihan vain näkemisen arvoinen jo pelkästään rakennuksena, mutta sisälläkin kannattaa käydä, sillä ruokalistalta löytyy yllättävästi PadThain lisäksin monta muuta herkullista thai ruokaa. ChurchHill Armsin lähistö on mielenkiintoista naapurustoa Brittiläiseen tyyliin. Kannattaakin käydä iltapäivä kävelyllä Hyde Parkin ja Covent Gardenin alueella.

London Eye

This is personally one of my must see's in London. The lines are long, and the ticket is pricey, but the experience is worth it. The views from the top are so spectacular and theres no better way to see a London sunset. If I can give any advice, I wouldn't advise going during the day, as the experience isn't as enjoyable with the sun causing the room to feel like a greenhouse.

Oma must see suosikkini. Ps. En voi suositella lippujen ostamista keskelle päivää sillä lasi-ikkunoiden lipä paistava aurinko tekee olon tukalaksi pienessä kopissa.

Brunching and Dining

Whether your looking to eat breakfast, dinner or whatever in between, theres more than enough options in London. The Saint Aymes cafe in the picture above is one of the most beautiful cafes in London. Thanks so much for the tip FindUsLost !xx As well, at 11 Pimlico Road you can find the most picturesque and unique meals from brunch to dinner. For all my tea friends, if you want to go and enjoy some afternoon tea, go and check out Sketch's Pink Room or Marriott's Library which is found in the County Hall area.

Brunssi, päivällinen tai mitä tahansa siltä väliltä - Lontoossa riittää valinnanvaraa. Kuvassa oleva Saint Aymes kahvila on Lontoon kaunein kahvila jonka tiedän, kiitos vinkistä FindUsLost ! xx No 11 Pimlico Roadilla tarjoilee mitä kuvauksellisimpia ja omaperäisimpiä ateriaoita aina brunssista myöhäiseen päivälliseen. Teen ystäville Sketch kahvilan Pink Room tai Marriott’s Library, County Hallin alueella on must juttu!

Shoreditch

Shoreditch is a bohemian styled neighbourhood famous for its Box Park and urban graffiti. Throughout the neighbourhood you'll find locals drinking coffee at various modern coffee shops, and enjoying the local art. If you go to Shoreditch, make sure you check out Box Park, which is an area total built of shipping containers. Here you'll find numerous restaurants, clothing shops, and dessert shops.

Tower Bridge

Along the London river, you will find various different bridges. In my opinion, the most impressive of them all is the Tower Bridge. This is a perfect spot during sunset to visit, as most tourists have already come and gone. As well, at the bottom of the Tower Bridge, you have access to all the different boat restaurants, which is never a bad idea during sunset.

Have a great weekend everyone! xx
